MTV VMAs coming to your television in August

HollywoodNews.com: The MTV Video Music Awards have been known for their spontaneity and unlikely moments that somehow happen to fall into place. Well, now fans can mark their calendars, because the MTV moon man will officially touch down on the surface of your television in August 2011.

MTV has just announced the dates for the Movie Awards, VMAs, and Woodie Awards, which are guaranteed to keep you entertained until fall rolls around again.

The 20th annual MTV Movie Awards will air live on Sunday, June 5, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT) from Los Angeles, the 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live on Sunday, August 28 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT), and the 6th annual mtvU Woodie Awards will air live on Wednesday, March 16, at 2 a.m. (ET/PT).

General manager of MTV, Stephen Friedman, said, “We are thrilled to plant the MTV flag early for next year by announcing our 2011 dates for the biggest and most influential nights in music, the VMAs and Woodies, as well as Hollywood’s most outlandish evening of entertainment, the Movie Awards.”
