Adam Lambert nabs Grammy nod; tries to wrangle performance

“Are you a huge fan of “Adam Lambert” who likes to blog? We’ve got a job for you…”

HollywoodNews.com: After being completely floored by his Grammy nomination, Adam Lambert is remaining at the center of the action and is rumored to be pushing for a performance at the awards ceremony. A representative from Lambert’s record label, RCA, commented on Lambert’s official website saying that they would be working on securing a performance for the up-and-coming superstar, though it is not a sure thing.

“A nomination doesn’t guarantee a performance, but of course we’ll be working to make that happen.” Said the RCA rep, according to the Examiner. Despite the hype, Lambert has not has a lot of time to work on music, having just come off of his successful Glam Nation tour, which may be a factor in whether he will perform or not.

Regardless of whether he will perform, February 13 will be a huge night for Lambert, a star who finds himself on a consistent upwards trajectory.

I do love all things Adam from his music to his performance as well as his style and photos. I would love do see him perform at the Grammys. I think a duet of Whataya Want From Me with Pink would be incredible.

Just Adam, please. Let him have the stage.

  • December 3, 2010 | Permalink |

Adam is a ratings magnet, he is loved all over the world, for him to perform live on The Grammy;s would have all of us tuning in! He is the ultimate live perfromer! Don’t care what song he sings, he is nominated for WWFM so that would be good but also prodicers of 5 of his songs off of FYE album are nominated so any of them would be sweet! I would love to hear him perform Time For Miracles live cuz he never had the opportunity yet! Please I hope it happens!!!

I, too, dreamed of watching Adam Lambert and Pink perform a duet of Whataya Want From Me at the Grammys. It would truly blow everybody’s sox off!

  • December 3, 2010 | Permalink |

This is Adam’s moment to shine and he should perform alone not a duet. I hope and pray that he gets to win and perform, he deserves this and more.

  • December 3, 2010 | Permalink |

I would love to see Adam perform Aftermath or Soaked on the Grammys. His vocals are so beautiful. Anything would be great though. Congratulations Adam.

I think Adam would be honored to do a duet with Pink – he’s consistently shown that he’s no diva and has already talked about how much he loves & respects Pink. On that youtube where their two versions of WWFM were blended; their voices sounded so perfect together. I sure hope the Grammy’s powers that be decide to put him on the show; it’ll be awesome!!

  • December 3, 2010 | Permalink |

No PINK, I love her but this is Adam’s night and should be just him! Soaked would be awesome or even Broken Open where that song is beyond beautiful with his vocals. Oh, I hope they make this happen.

  • December 3, 2010 | Permalink |

Would love to see a duet with Pink too!! But does everyone know she’s preggers?? She will have a huge tummy on that stage 🙂

  • December 3, 2010 | Permalink |

sooo many nice articles about Adam!!the medias are really on his side!
Would be good for the Grammy s to let him perform, will push the rates into the sky!!

  • December 3, 2010 | Permalink |

I hope he can perform something off his album. I wouldn’t mind him performing with Pink or Christina or someone. I’d love to see him do a song and/or a medley with a group of great singers. But if it were my decision, he would sing alone and it would be WWFM or Aftermath.

You said: “Despite the hype, Lambert has not has a lot of time to work on music, having just come off of his successful Glam Nation tour, which may be a factor in whether he will perform or not.”

If you’ve followed tour at all, you’d know that he often performs encores brilliantly with very little preparation. He also recorded his entire CD in three months! He’s got PLENTY of time to put something together for the Grammys. My wish would be Soaked with full string orchestra!

If Adam is lucky enough to get a performance slot on the Grammys, I’d rather he sing WWFM alone rather than with Pink. She gave him the song and it should be solely his now, not treated like a song he borrowed. To be honest, I’d almost like to see him perform Music Again as an opener, since it seems like it would be a great opener to the entire show.

Alas, Bieber or Katy Perry or some other autotuned teen favorite will no doubt open the show and the same tripe will dominate the show (and the awards, I bet). It will be a miracle if someone who can sing live without technological assistance even gets to utter a note.

If Adam get chance to sing on grammy; I would love to hear he sings combined song Soak & WWFM or Afrermath & WWFM

  • December 3, 2010 | Permalink |

A performance by Adam Lambert would be one huge reason to watch the Grammys. I hope they work it out.

  • December 3, 2010 | Permalink |

I would love love love to see Adam perform WWFM at the Grammy’s. What a perfect retort to the post-AMA kiss blacklisting he’s endured over this past year. But NO DUET please. It’s a nomination for best male pop vocal performance, and he kills it with his untouchable voice. Not to mention that this song is from the first album by the first openly gay musician to be signed by a major label. If such an incredible moment, musically and meaningfully were to happen, it should be Adam shining alone in the spotlight.

  • December 3, 2010 | Permalink |

Nothing against Pink, but this is Adam’s nomination and Adam’s time to shine. Let him take the stage with Monte on acoustic guitar, give him a spotlight and a stool and let him stretch out those long legs, open that gorgeous mouth and leave the audience and the millions at home watching completely stunned by his raw, unretouched, no Auto Tuned, God-given talent. Within a few days of that performance, his “Acoustic Live” album will go double platinum. 2011 is going to be phenomenal for this amazing artist. Love you, Adam! (Oh and can I be your Valentine Grammy date, please?)

  • December 3, 2010 | Permalink |

I like pink but Adam should not be associated with any other name. His name is big enough and his voice is bigger than any other. No duet. Just him.

  • December 4, 2010 | Permalink |

If he performs, I want him to perform a really stripped down version of wwfm. Since people will be expecting him to be outrageous,

  • December 4, 2010 | Permalink |

Why all the suggestions for duets? Adam does rather well on his own, dontcha think?????

  • December 4, 2010 | Permalink |

I think this should be for Adam alone, not with Pink. Adam deserves this spotlight just for himself, and I do not think that it should be shared with another celebrity, they will just be benefiting from Adam’s celebrity. Way to go, Adam!!! Just for you, Baby!!!!

  • December 4, 2010 | Permalink |

Yes, I would LOVE to see Adam perform at the Grammys, but would prefer alone – this is HIS moment to shine. Like the Time for Miracles or Soaked idea as some have mentioned, because two producers on his album are nominated for a category too – and those two songs are on that roster.

In any event, I am still smiling from the news that Adam has a Grammy nomination:-)

  • December 4, 2010 | Permalink |

I don’t care how he performs or what he performs. He could get up there and do the Hokey Pokey with the headless ghost of Marie Antoinette for all it matters to me. As long as he’s performing, my eyes will be super-glued to the screen. Nothing about “Adam Lambert” and “the Grammys” being in the same sentence could possibly displease me.

  • December 4, 2010 | Permalink |

Pink performed at the grammies last year on her own. Why should Adam need to perform the song that he made a hit with someone else? Please, let the world hear Adam and not have him adapt his singing as not to overshadow someone else. Pink has already said she can’t sing it like Adam. If he performs this will be if first time since the AMA on a major award show. If he does it anywhere close to the way he performed wWFM on idol there will be no room for Pink. Sorry.

  • December 4, 2010 | Permalink |

You want viewers? Let Adam Lambert have the stage. You’ll not only get great ratings, you will also see a stunning performance by the best performer of the decade.

  • December 5, 2010 | Permalink |

Please! Only ADAM! It’s his category … not a collaboration. If it is WWFM … perfect! ADAM will probably come up with YET another rendition that will surprise us ALL ‘n blow the roof off the place. My choice would be a medley of WWFM .. IIHY .. SLEEPWALKER .. in whatever order ADAM chooses but I’m sure … if ADAM does perform … it will be STELLAR and should be the show CLOSER!! Who could follow ADAM??

  • December 5, 2010 | Permalink |

GRAMMY AWARDS, please invite adam to perform please.

  • December 5, 2010 | Permalink |

I’d say I’d qualify as an uber Lambert fan, but even so, I’m not blind to the facts of how Grammy shows are put together and produced. I would love to see Lambert perform on the Grammys. I think many music loving consumers would love to see Lambert perform, however Lambert can gain the opportunity to perform on the Grammy stage is not as important to me as the plain fact that he does… collaboration is fine, the Grammys have done duets and collaborations frequently on their telecast. A solo performance would be a real treat if it’s in the cards, and I think the Grammy producers do go for that – giving the audience real musical treats that night, so let’s hope they see that Lambert could give, would give, a compelling stunning performance, no doubt in my mind; his voice always delivers, never fails, always kills. From a ratings standpoint, I won’t be so naive as to overstate the incredible draw of the many other hot current artists, that’s obvious, goes without saying… but I will also add that I believe a Lambert performance would be an excellent asset to the ratings draw gameplan.

I agree, no duet. This is Adam’s moment. I’m all for a duet with Xtina sometime in the future but I think it would be better if it was a collab of some new music, either his or hers, not a duet of some recycled song. But I don’t see any benefit for Adam to duet with Pink on WWFM as it would take away from his moment and I don’t see any benefit for her to duet with Adam on WWFM because it will just showcase how much better he sings it.

As far as on the Grammys I think everyone would be expecting WWFM and I would love it but I’d really love to see him come out there and sing Soaked or Sleepwalker. So many people have not heard these wonderful songs and it could really give his album some new exposure (not to mention the whole place would be floored by either one of these songs and Adam’s spectacular vocals).

I would LOVE to see Adam create what HE wants to perform, as all of the performances he has dreamed up to this point have become more than I ever could have imagined anyway. IF, however, he asked for my opinion, I am with Agrimesy…Soaked accompanied by a full orchestra would be ADAM-azing!

  • December 12, 2010 | Permalink |

Yes! SOAKED or CAN’T LET YOU GO … his bonus track on the UK edition of FYE … There wouldn’t be a dry eye in the place & the thunderous applause would be deafening. I am so praying to GOD?Universe to let this happen … PLEASE!!
