Michelle Williams beat Ryan Gosling in film weight gain

HollywoodNews.com: Michelle Williams apparently beat out Ryan Gosling when it came to gaining weight for their new film ‘Blue Valentine’ as she packed on a couple more pounds than him.

Williams reportedly gained about 15 pounds for the role in which the director first thought she would lose weight, states People. However, Williams had a different idea for her character and thought the weight gain would work with the woman’s “self-hatred.”

So how did she do it? “Michelle was eating a pint of ice cream for breakfast and dinner and avocado sandwiches all day,” Derek Cianfrance, the film’s director, says about her food choices.

Do you think Michelle Williams’ idea to gain weight instead of lose it works for the role?
