“The Fighter” keeps knocking out audience members – AWARDS SEASON ROUNDUP

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: HollywoodNews.com’s Awards Season Roundup collects insights from around the Internet on films that are running in the Oscar race.

At recent Academy screenings, “The Fighter” played very well, but “Black Swan” did not, according to Steve Pond.

Speaking of “Fighter,” Christian Bale tells HitFix how he lost 30 lbs for his role.

While Scott Feinberg wonders if the film could pull a “Rocky”-like upset in the Best Picture category.

Dave Karger updates his own Oscar charts. He’s still got “The King’s Speech” winning Best Picture.

As “True Grit” continues to climb the Oscar charts, Paramount announces that the Coen Brothers’ western will open the Berlin International Film Festival in February.

The question gets asked once again: “Is ‘Social Network’ too cool for the Academy?”

Has Fox Searchlight’s “Tree of Life” Oscar campaign already begun?

And finally, today’s the day Harvey Weinstein appeals the NC-17 rating handed to “Blue Valentine.” Will he prevail? Will it matter?
