“Transformers” teaser will see you on the dark side of the moon

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: That’s one small step for Michael Bay, and one giant leap for the “Transformers” franchise.

At least, that’s what Paramount hopes as it ramps up for next summer’s third “Transformers” film, subtitled “Dark of the Moon.” The first teaser trailer, released online, restages the moon landing of 1969, but suggests our astronauts made the long journey for a different reason.

Directed by Michael Bay, “Dark of the Moon” stars Shia LaBeouf as Sam Witwicky, but replaces Megan Fox with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Details of Ehren Kruger’s screenplay are being kept under wraps. Filmed in 3D, the sequel will be in theaters on July 1.
