Vin Diesel intros “Fast Five” trailer on Facebook

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Are you Facebook friends with Vin Diesel? You might want to “Like” his profile page, as the actor just uploaded the first trailer from the fifth “Fast and the Furious” film, titled “Fast Five.”

The clip, found here, begins with Diesel introducing the trailer from the beaches of Rio de Janeiro. The two-minute reel sets up the plot, something to do with Diesel, Paul Walker and his crew stealing from criminals as they try to elude the law (led by Dwayne Johnson). One can only hope for a lengthy fistfight between Diesel and Johnson. Possibly in a wrestling ring.

The trailer has tons of explosions, a handful of beautiful cars, multiple shots of people diving off the rooftops of Brazil’s tightly-packed houses, cringe-worthy one-liners … essentially everything you want from a “Fast” sequel.

Justin Lin returns to direct his third “Fast” film. I also spotted “Fast” veterans Jordana Brewster, Ludacris and Tyrese Gibson in the clips. The franchise, if nothing else, loves to keep it in the family and find work for its former cast members.

“Fast Five” will be in theaters on April 29. While it will not be presented in 3D, it will be presented in IMAX.
