DJ Pauly D – Star of MTV’s Jersey Shore – Celebrates the MSP Polar Bear Plunge
hollywoodnews.com: It’s Plunge Time, and an appearance by popular MTV Reality Show star DJ Pauly D has officially been confirmed as part of the festivities surrounding the event’s 15th anniversary.
The MSP Polar Bear Plunge is set for January 29 at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis.
J Pauly D, cast member of Jersey Shore, is scheduled to do two (2) DJ sets – one pre-Plunge and one post-Plunge – inside the Rams Head Ice Lodge, a heated entertainment tent that debuted at the 2010 Plunge and will be back in 2011 with a full line-up of free entertainment, vendors and other offerings. DJ Pauly D is headlining this venue, and will also participate in at least one other Plunge-Day activity, though he is not scheduled to do the Plunge himself.
By making a $500 contribution to Special Olympics Maryland, a limited number of DJ Pauly D fans can also be a part of a Meet & Greet experience with the star on January 29. Details on this Ultimate Plunge VIP package are on plungemd.com.
According to his bio on MTV.com, “Pauly D is Rhode Island’s most well known DJ and keeps a tanning bed in his house. He orders gel by the case and does his hair twice a day — once in the morning and once before hitting the town.” He is well known for phrases like, “It’s T-shirt time!” and “Cabs are here!”
The MSP Polar Bear Plunge is the largest non-profit fundraiser in Maryland, and has raised more than $16 million for Special Olympics Maryland in its 14-year history. Expectations are high for the 15th anniversary event, which will feature the brand-new Chesapeake Bayhawks Arctic Lacrosse Zone, Pure Boardshop’s X-Games Experience Tent, a ladies’ tent with spa and beauty treatments, a kids area, and more. The event is free to spectators, and Plunge participants are required to raise only a minimum of $50 in order to be a part of the big Plunge at either 1 or 3 p.m. Registration is open and all information on the event is available at www.plungemd.com.
