Cate Blanchett, Saoirse Ronan lock horns in “Hanna” trailer
By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Director Joe Wright had some heat.
His first film, an adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Pride & Prejudice,” turned Oscar’s heads. His follow-up, “Atonement,” was a bona-fide awards force, grabbing seven Oscar noms (including Best Picture) and one win.
Then came “The Soloist,” and while I thought it was extremely interesting, it failed to lure crowds and cooled Wright’s hot streak just a bit.
Can he reclaim that career momentum? He’ll try this spring with “Hanna,” what looks to be an intriguing vengeance thriller about a young girl (Saoirse Ronan of “Atonement” and “The Lovely Bones”) who is trained by her father (Eric Bana) to be an assassin. Their target? Cate Blanchett. Seriously, where do I sign up?
“Hanna” doesn’t open until April, but this morning, we have a trailer teasing the action (with a killer soundtrack by The Chemical Brothers). Watch it below, or see a high-definition clip on Yahoo! Movies.
