Will Mark Wahlberg fight Will Smith for celebrity boxing match?

By Sean O’Connell People realize Will Smith and Mark Wahlberg only played boxers in movies, right? They’re not legitimate boxers. Yes, they trained to make it look real on screen … but they don’t actually box for a living.

So why are the A-list actors being offered $1 million to fight in Las Vegas? Aren’t celebrity death matches a thing of the past?

Not if you are boxing promoter Damon Feldman, who is ponying up the dough in an effort to raise awareness for the sport and bring a little sizzle back to the Vegas Strip.

The N.Y, Daily News reports that Wahlberg and Smith would fight three one-minute rounds.

“We don’t think these two are going to rip each others heads off,” Feldman said. “We’re just hoping to get into the ring and have a little fun duking it out.”

Wahlberg, of course, stars in “The Fighter,” which currently is in theaters, while Smith once played Muhammad Ali for Michael Mann’s biopic.
