HollywoodNews.com: It’s terrific that whenever award nominations for television shows come out these days, ‘Modern Family’ and ‘Glee’ are always well represented.
That certainly was the cast today when the Producers Guild of America and the Writers Guild of America unveiled their choices.
The PGA nominated both ‘Glee’ and ‘Modern Family’ for The Danny Thomas Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television, Comedy. The rest of its competition is ’30 Rock,’ ‘The Office’ and ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm.’
HBO’s ‘True Blood’ is among the nominees for the The Norman Felton Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television. It competes with ‘Breaking Bad,’ ‘Dexter,’ ‘Lost’ and ‘Mad Men.’
Kathy Griffin, who has two Emmys on her mantle (they also seem to travel with her an awful lot!), is a nominee for Outstanding Producer of Non-Fiction Television for her Bravo show ‘My Life on the D-List.’ Her competition is the producers of ‘Intervention,’ ‘Deadliest Catch,’ ‘Undercover Boss’ and ‘Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations.’
Vying for the Award for Outstanding Producer of Live Entertainment and Competition Television are the producers of ‘The Amazing Race,’ ‘The Colbert Report,’ ‘Project Runway,’ ‘Top Chef’ and ‘Real Time With Bill Maher.’
As for the writing awards, both ‘Glee’ and ‘Modern Family’ were nominated by the WGA in the comedy series category as were ’30 Rock,’ ‘Nurse Betty’ and ‘The Office.’
