Robert Pattinson cast in David Cronenberg’s latest

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Robert Pattinson will appear alongside Paul Giamatti and Marion Cotillard in David Cronenberg’s adaptation of Don DeLillo’s novel, “Cosmopolis.”

Pattinson assumes a role previously occupied by Colin Farrell, according to THR.

Pattinson will play a billionaire stock wizard who must navigate a series of urban obstacles on his way to getting a haircut. I’m not kidding. Considering the talent that is being lured to the project, I’m sure there is far more at stake than Pattinson’s hair. Then again, given the amount of attention that is paid to the young actor’s celebrated looks, maybe that’s the actual, centralized plot.

Kudos to Pattinson. This is exactly the type of collaborations – along with “Water for Elephants” — we’d like to see him attempt if he’s going to build a serious acting career once “Twilight” fades.

THR goes on to say that Farrell bowed out of Cronenberg’s film to take a part in Sony’s “Total Recall” remake, with Len Wiseman at the helm. As for “Cosmopolis,” Cronenberg is eyeing a summer shoot, most likely in Toronto.
