All that is going on in Janet Jackson’s world

By Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith What strange times for Janet Jackson.

The songstress has been on the scene this week for the highly-emotional preliminary hearing on an involuntary manslaughter charge against Michael Jackson’s physician, Dr. Conrad Murray. (She has been quite vocal in blaming the doctor for her brother’s death.) At the same time, she has her own imminent business — including planning of her soon-to-launch Number Ones, Up Close and Personal world tour. Tickets go on sale today (1/8).

There’s also the launch of her “True You” book dealing with diet, exercise, self-image and self-esteem to contend with. The tome hits stores Feb. 8.

And on top of that, Janet could easily find herself in this year’s Academy Awards running come Jan. 25. Her hit “Nothing” (written and produced by her in association with Johnta Austin, Bryan-Michael Cox and Jermaine Dupri) from Tyler Perrry’s “Why Did I Get Married Too” is being buzzed by Oscar prognosticators everywhere as a good bet for a Best Song nomination.

Janet has been balancing moving on with life and dealing with the aftermath of Michael’s death for more than a year and a half now. You may recall that “Why Did I Get Married Too” briefly shuttered production after his passing, while Janet flew to join family in L.A. for the funeral. When she returned to the movie location, her friends on the production “decided, in unison, to give her space and respect whatever feelings she was feeling,” as Jill Scott recalled it to this column. “If she wanted to be quiet, we’d step back. If she wanted to talk, we’d be there for her. I think she did find escape in her work. She definitely did.”

God Bless her! she has been through so much and had to deal with Hollywood all her life and living in a bubble for the world to watch and judge everything she does. she is so humble and seems like such a beautiful person inside and out and she keeps her private life hidden from the public.we need more Celebs like Janet she grew up in Hollywood but you never hear about drug use or partying and acting a fool for the world to see like the other young Hollywood stars. she is one of the few child stars that successfully make a name for herself as an adult. i really hope she wins that Oscar she deserves it.

I have always love Janet Jackson, she does seem to be very humble, and no you have never heard of her drinking and getting drunk, drugs or the etc. The superbowl fiasco was just blown out of proportion by Hypicrital Drunk Americans. Getting drunk is worse than having a wardrobe malfunction, but Americans love to judge others. “Nothing” was probably the best movie song out in 2010, it was a direct connection to the movie, and Janet to me, is the femald version of “Michael Jackson” she never had to do endorsements to be worth 200 million or more her music spoke for itself as the same for Michael Jackson these are 2 artist that never really had endorsements they let their music and talent speak for them. Janet does deserve that Oscar nomination and she does not even have to win it but she does deserve to be nominated, I hope that the oscars are not about who is hot right now like the grammies, the oscars have always had class when it comes to making the right decisions unlike the grammies, the grammies gives awards to the people that they like and most of the time they don’t have the real talent. Keep your head up Janet we all support you and your family. Rip “King of Pop”.
