“Toy Story 3” takes top Tomato as year’s best-reviewed film

By Sean O’Connell “Toy Story 3” came so close to perfection on Rotten Tomatoes this past summer, but three negative reviews posted to the site prevented the Pixar sequel from boasting a 100-percent Fresh grade.

Still, the 99% grade was enough to earn “Toy Story 3” this year’s Golden Tomato Award, which is handed out by RT to the year’s best-reviewed film.

“Story” narrowly edged out David Fincher’s “The Social Network,” which scored a 97-percent Fresh grade. Coincidentally, “Network” arrives on DVD today.

Fincher’s film did “take the Tomato” in the drama category, joining fellow winners like “True Grit,” the Banksy documentary “Exit Through the Gift Shop” and the well-reviewed documentary “Last Train Home,” about Chinese migrant workers.
