Michael Seligman Named Oscar® Supervising Producer


hollywoodnews.com: Michael B. Seligman has been named supervising producer of the 83rd Academy Awards® telecast, marking his 34th year of association with the show, telecast producers Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer announced today.

“With Michael’s extensive and invaluable experience on the Oscars®, we could not imagine doing this show without him,” said Cohen and Mischer. “We are thrilled to have him on board.”

With more than 300 major television events to his credit, Seligman specializes in producing live broadcasts throughout the world. Most recently he served as supervising producer for “Stand Up to Cancer,” an unprecedented fundraising program that aired on four networks simultaneously and raised more than $80 million for cancer research.

Seligman has received six Emmy® nominations for his work on the Oscar telecasts. His other producing credits include “America Celebrates July 4th at Ford’s Theatre”; “America’s Millennium,” a three-hour live New Year’s Eve celebration; the NBC special “Funny Women of Television”; and “Return to the Titanic…Live!”

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2010 will be presented on Sunday, February 27, 2011, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center®, and televised live on the ABC Television Network. The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in more than 200 countries worldwide.
