Hollywood Stars to Present At Producers Guild Awards

ollywoodnews.com: Helen Mirren, Mark Wahlberg, Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler, Andrew Garfield, Amy Adams, Kerry Washington, Jim Parsons, Joe Manganiello, among others will be presenters at the 22nd Annual Producers Guild Awards, producer and 2011 Producers Guild Awards Chair, Paula Wagner announced today.

Award-winning producer, writer, director Judd Apatow will host the 2011 ceremony with the Guild set to pay tribute to several special individual honorees including: James Cameron (Milestone Award), Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman (Norman Lear Achievement Award in Television), Scott Rudin (David O. Selznick Achievement Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures), Laura Ziskin (Visionary Award), RealD (Vanguard Award) and Sean Penn (Stanley Kramer Award).

The 22nd Annual Producers Guild Awards will be held on Saturday, January 22nd at The Beverly Hilton Hotel, 9876 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA 90210. Arrivals begin at 5:00 p.m. PST; The Producers Guild Awards program will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. PST with dinner. The Awards ceremony will follow at 7:30 p.m. PST.

In 1990 the Producers Guild of America held the first-ever Golden Laurel Awards, which were renamed the Producers Guild Awards in 2002. Richard Zanuck and Lili Fini Zanuck took home the award for Best Produced Motion Picture for “Driving Miss Daisy,” establishing the Guild awards as a bellwether for the Oscars. Last year, the PGA awarded THE HURT LOCKER its Darryl F. Zanuck Producer of the Year Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures.

Award-winning producer, director and writer Judd Apatow will serve as host for the 2011 ceremony. He has produced such films as THE 40 YEAR-OLD VIRGIN, KNOCKED UP, SUPERBAD, FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL and THE CABLE GUY along with such television series as “Freaks and Geeks” and “Undeclared,” among others. Apatow will next bring us BRIDESMAIDS, followed by WANDERLUST.

Academy Award®-winning actress Helen Mirren was most recently seen in the action comedy RED and can next be seen in the film ARTHUR. She has appeared in such films as EXCALIBUR, 2010, THE MOSQUITO COAST, THE PRINCE OF EGYPT, THE LAST STATION and THE QUEEN which garnered her an Academy Award® for her role as Queen Elizabeth II. Mirren is also an accomplished stage actor appearing in such productions as “Macbeth,” “Antony and Cleopatra” and “Woman in Mind” among others.

Academy Award®-nominated actor and producer Mark Wahlberg can currently be seen in THE FIGHTER alongside Academy Award®-nominated actress Amy Adams. Wahlberg executive produces such mega television hits as “Entourage,” “Boardwalk Empire” and “In Treatment.” He was also recently seen in the hit comedy THE OTHER GUYS and in the drama THE LOVELY BONES. Adams will next be seen on screen in ON THE ROAD and THE MUPPETS. She has appeared in such hits as ENCHANTED and JULIE & JULIA.

Producer, comedian and actor Will Ferrell is currently producing the action, comedy HANSEL AND GRETAL: WITCH HUNTERS starring Jeremy Renner. He has appeared in such films as OLD SCHOOL, ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND OF RON BURGUNDY, STEP BROTHERS, ELF, ZOOLANDER, STRANGER THAN FICTION and THE OTHER GUYS among others. He was most recently heard as the voice of Megamind in MEGAMIND 3D from Jeffrey Katzenberg’s DreamWorks Animation. Katzenberg and DreamWorks will next bring audiences KUNG FU PANDA 2 followed by PUSS IN BOOTS.

Emmy Award®-nominated actress and producer Amy Poehler currently appears in the NBC sitcom “Parks and Recreation” which she also produces. She has acted in several feature films including BABY MAMA, MEAN GIRLS and BLADES OF GLORY. She can next be heard on the big screen reprising her role as Eleanor in ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS 3D. Poehler is also frequently seen on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.”

Award-winning actor, Andrew Garfield was most recently seen in the critically-acclaimed film THE SOCIAL NETWORK and is currently filming the UNTITLED SPIDER-MAN RE-BOOT alongside Emma Stone. He has previously been seen in such projects as NEVER LET ME GO and THE IMAGINARIUM OF DOCTOR PARNASSUS.

Award-winning actress Kerry Washington most recently appeared in the drama FOR COLORED GIRLS and will soon be seen in THE DETAILS, premiering at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. She has additionally appeared in such films as RAY, THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND and MOTHER AND CHILD and as well as on stage in “Race.”

Emmy Award®-winning actor Jim Parsons currently appears in the CBS hit television show “The Big Bang Theory,” and will soon be seen on the big screen in THE BIG YEAR alongside Jack Black and Owen Wilson.

Joe Manganiello can currently be seen on the hit HBO series “True Blood.” He has previously appeared on such series as “One Tree Hill,” “How I Met Your Mother” and “American Heiress.”
