Pixar teases new “Cars 2” characters

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Because we’re so wrapped up in the awards prospects of one Pixar sequel – “Toy Story 3” – it’s easy to forget that the studio has another animated sequel on the horizon.

Luckily, we’re receiving helpful reminders from Pixar on a regular basis alerting us to “Cars 2,” which opens everywhere on June 24.

We already know that original cars Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) and Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) will be taking their show on the road, so to speak. While Lightning competes in a global race – stopping in such exotic locales at Tokyo and Paris – Mater finds himself wrapped up in an international spy adventure … whether he likes it or not.

Michael Caine and Emily Mortimer lend their voices to two new characters in the film: Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell, respectively. Based on their names, I’m guessing they are being lifted directly from the James Bond realm. It works. And now we are getting even better looks at Finn and Holley from the “Cars” sequel.

Disney has released a fresh batch of character images. Below, we have different Finn and Holley shots. What do you think?

There are a few more movie still spread out around the ‘net as Pixar begins ramping up to “Cars 2” coverage. Stick with us, and we’ll bring you what we find.
