‘American Idol’ happy with the age rule change

HollywoodNews.com: Executives at ‘American Idol’ seem pretty happy so far with their decision to allow 15-year-olds to try out for the singing competition.

Executive producer Nigel Lythgoe is both surprised and happy with the result of the rule change this year, states MTV. “I thought, ‘We’re going to get a bunch of immature kids come in and cry their eyes out when they’re kicked out,'” Lythgoe says about what he expected, but it wasn’t what he got.

He admits that the 15-year-olds are much more mature than their age and just seem grateful to be able to try out. Lythgoe also admits that quite a few of them are pretty talented singers, like Kenzie Palmer.

Do you like that the show is open to younger singers this year?

15 year olds huh? I predict that Steven Tyler is going to get booted off the show before the end of the season for allegations of molesting young girls. The guy has always been twisted.
