‘American Idol’ wins big in its second week

HollywoodNews.com: While ‘American Idol’ was expected to debut big, it has also maintained its ratings pretty well in its second week.

The show reportedly brought in 25.2 million viewers last night and only a suffered a 5% drop with its main viewers compared to last week’s Wednesday episode, states Reuters. ‘AI’ reportedly averaged a 9.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which is its target audience.

This is especially big news because last year the third episode of the show dropped 14% with its main demographic.

Shows in competition with ‘AI’ did not do very well as the new drama ‘Off the Map’ only brought in 5 million while ABC and CBS were only showing reruns.

Do you think ‘American Idol’ will continue to do well?
