Adam Lambert to fans: Grammys will be fun despite other matters

HollywoodNews.com: Adam Lambert wants his fans to know that he plans on having a good time at this year’s Grammys, despite some of the details involved.

Lambert cleared up a few things over his Twitter, but kept it all optimistic: “For all those who are asking, no, unfortunately I’m not performing at the Grammys. Also, I don’t think my category is televised. I AM, however, going to have a great time! :)”

Lambert, as usual, seems to be happy with how everything continues to go in his booming career.

Do you think Adam Lambert should be performing at the Grammys?

Of course Adam Lambert should be performing and 10-year-old un-nominated Willow Smith should NOT be performing! What gives? Adam took the music from his debut album all over the world, performing in 114 sold out shows and this is the thanks and recognition he gets for it? They prefer “Whip My Hair” as a Grammy performance to the Grammy nominated “Whataya Want From Me?” Bruno Mars has yet to tour the way Adam has, is guilty of a recent cocaine arrest, but is nominated in 7 categories and IS performing. Can someone explain this outrageous oversight to me?

As one of Adam’s most ardent fans, I have to say that I am very annoyed that the powers that be have deemed it necessary to exclude him from performing or presenting at the Grammys..I HATE to have to realize that he just may have sabotaged his career in certain aspects by letting himself get a little out of hand at the ’09 AMAs..but, what is done cannot be undone..and as such, is one of life’s unfair situations. Lets just hope that he at least gets to walk the red carpet..cause we fans know in our Glamhearts that he is far more talented, beautiful and exciting than any other performer who will be there.

Adam Lambert has the most beautiful voice on this planet, yet the Grammy committee decided to put the Muppets on instead. He could have used their airs time, don’t you think? This whole deal makes me so sad for Adam and for his supporting fans. And, should I be worried now that the industry doesn’t seem to be looking for real talent, only ET sound bites?

Ahhhh I would have liked to have seen at least one major American music entity give Adam Lambert the support he deserves but it seems he really does need to look overseas for his career – where he is loved for the musician he is and no-one gives a hoot about his sexual orientation. Here in Australia/NZ he is thought of as a “legend” for breaking boundaries and double-standards with his AMA performance but over in the US he continues to be punished for something that should never have been an issue in the first place and happened over a year ago. It’s very sad and doesn’t make the US look too hot.

I repeat, Bruno Mars was just in court this week over a cocaine arrest and rap icons like Lil Wayne have done jail time but that doesn’t seem to be egregious enough to stop THEM from performing at award shows. How long does Adam have to pay for his AMA “sins” and for being open about being gay? Forever?

To @CNB and @cheesehead– You couldn’t of said it better! I would of been o.k. and understood it with the majority of set performers. But willow smith, muffets, gwenewth paltro, jaden smith all ruined it for me. Makes absolutely no sense to me! It has to be the AMA stigma that won’t be forgotten.

Clearly, the Grammys have no room on their busy schedule for someone like Adam Lambert when they have to make time for the musical artistry of Willow Smith and the Muppets.

The good news is that now I am free to spend those hours doing something other than watching the Grammys.

I say that not as some butthurt Glambert, but as someone who has no interest in the acts that are performing who — with the exception of the Muppets — have been all over awards shows and other televised performances endlessly. I think I can say without too much fear of being proven wrong that watching Willow Smith or Justin Bieber lipsynch once is more than enough.

I don’t even know what to say anymore.. Adam is the most talented brilliant singer with a stage presence that has not been seen in decades. They never gave him a chance . But Adam is not going anywhere he is gonna be just fine because he IS TALENTED and his fans adore him so Who needs the Grammy’s anyway Muppets and Willow and even Bieber they can’t come close to Adam’s talent. It’s all about Money now not Talent.

I’ve totally lost respect for The Grammys..They aren’t about talent or the most brilliant
performers at all..They are about autotune and catering to a certain group of people..
Cee Lo and Bruno Mars ..And Willow Smith…And Usher’s little Bieber..
What A Classless Show..to ignore the fantastic talent of Adam Lambert. The politics
involved in this railroading of an AMAZING ARTIST like Lambert SUCKS BIG TIME !!

The Grammys are going to be a mess this year! Who ever produced the show must have taken his notes from Romper Room. What happened to the Grammys being a cutting edge show. Yes Adam Lambert should have performed, he is one of the few artist today who can actually sing without electronic assistance.

CNB i could not agree more. turn your head to cocaine arrests.but forever remember the AMA. He has paid dearly for it so move on. I think it all about big money, marketing and politics.Thought the Grammys were stand up and would be the ones , He was nominated and has a good chance to win how great is that. He shows nothing but grace and class. Next year he will be the one with seven nominations, so Rock on Adam. the best is yet to come.

Molly who would you rather see, the muppets or Adam Lambert?

  • February 3, 2011 | Permalink |

It will be interesting to see what the ratings will be for the Grammys this year. When Adam Lambert was billed as the closer for the AMA’s in November, 2009. they had their best ratings in years. If Adam had been billed as a performer for this Grammy show, his massive fan base would have boosted CBS’s ratings sky high. The Grammys have now become a show for the kiddies instead of the adults so it will be up to the Bieber fans to get those ratings. Unlike Bieber, Adam has fans in every age range as well as worldwide. His recent birthday video messages of love from countries around the world as well as amazing response to his goal of raising $290,000 for his water charity testify to the size of that fan base.

Yes Adam should be performing!!! I can’t believe he is still being punished. I for one will not be watching the Grammys. But I will be watching The View on 2/9 when they have Adam as a guest!!! Adam deserves so much more respect than he’s getting. I’m happy for his nomination and I hope he has a really good time at the Grammy’s, but man, I sure would like to see him where he belongs!!!!!! Up on that grammy stage!!!!!

I am disappointed that he is not performing or at least presenting. I still appreciate that he even got a nomination. What a tough world for Lambert being in this emotionally bankrupt music industry. I admit I can’t watch the show because of Bieber, Swift or Willow. I will DVR it and check out his website to see what parts were worth watching. We need to support the only awards show in America that was willing to nominate Adam. I’ll get over him not performing. I’m wondering why he’s not on the talk circuit other than next week. He’s got this great charity thing going and he’s a Grammy nominated artist. I expected him to be on Ellen or Jay or somewhere..

Well …. just chalk the GRAMMYs up as another .. ‘who gives a **** about this award show’ … also and WATCH it MUTED to get a glimpse of ADAM … only turn on the sound if I see ADAM talking/presenting/on the Red Carpet …. otherwise …. no sound needed for the rest of the ‘performances’?? being shoved at us by TPTB …. they think they know so much?? Hope their ratings TANK after I see ADAM!! Top Eschelon IDIOTS!! Hope you get the lowest ratings of ALL the channels. Think I’ll TAPE it … then I can watch it whenever I want to … and Fast Forward through all the ‘dreck’!!!

  • February 3, 2011 | Permalink |

I am disappointed that Adam will not be performing but I am still happy with the Grammys for recognizing his brilliant voice. Not sure yet if I will watch the show, definitely the Red Carpet though.

Happy Adam received his nomination, still hopes he has a great time and wins, but, I still will not watch the Grammy’s (a consumer right not to watch the show). Too bad as an adult, I’m forced to watch certain television shows that are watered down “for the children”, (I’m a parent of a seven year old by the way, and I make the the decisions what she watches, not the networks). My only point, Adam is an entertainer, let him ENTERTAIN, and let us enjoy his performances. In England he was Nickteen, MTV live performances, etc.; here????

  • February 4, 2011 | Permalink |

Wait . Best Male Vocalist is NOT televised? I thought that was a major category? Definitely not watching if there won’t even be audience shots of Adam. He should be performing.

If Idol’s producers have any sense they’ll have him mentor again, several times.

  • February 5, 2011 | Permalink |

Very happy for his nomination but sad he won’t be performing. Agree with the others – who wants to see the muppets or Willow Smith? At least they nominated him. Better than the AMAs or VMAs.

To Linda Adam will not be on the View ; it’s the “Talk” a CBS or NBC show. Check your TV listings so you don’t miss it!
