Christopher Nolan’s “Memento” turns 10, holds special screenings

By Sean O’Connell A Christopher Nolan film will be in theaters next week … only it’s not “The Dark Knight Rises.” You still have to wait until next year for that anticipated blockbuster.

Instead, Newmarket Films will be screening high-definition digital prints of Nolan’s “Memento” in celebration of the film’s 10tht anniversary. Screenings will take place on Thursday, Feb. 17, in 11 select digital cinemas across the U.S. and Canada.

In addition to the excellent film – which stars Guy Pearce as an amnesic using tattoos on his body to solve a mystery – the screenings will include a never-before-seen, pre-recorded Q-and-A with Nolan on “Memento.”

To find out which venues will be hosting the screening, visit the event’s official Facebook page. Right now, there are theaters in Georgia, Massachusetts, Virginia, Texas, Toronto and California.

If your city is not getting an anniversary “Memento” screening, be patient. The movie will arrive on Blu-ray on Feb. 22, available from Lionsgate Home Entertainment.
