Lady Gaga dissed by Madonna’s brother for new song While there has been some questioning as to whether or not Lady Gaga’s new song is similar to one of Madonna’s songs, people are stepping in with their opinions.

Madonna’s brother, Chris Ciccone, is making it clear that he thinks Lady Gaga’s song “Born This Way” is a copycat, reports

“All I can say is ‘What the F**K!’ It sounds just like “Express Yourself” – I can’t believe it to tell you the truth,” Ciccone said about Lady Gaga’s newest release.

Do you agree or do you think the songs are completely different?

I agree that Gaga’s song is a copy cat version of Madonna’s Express Yourself (there’s just no doubt about that). But I also agree that – in another sense – it is completely different from Madonna’s Express Yourself; the difference being, Madonna’s was brilliant, but Gaga’s Born This Way is utter rubbish, like most of her totally unoriginal copycat songs.

I expected Gaga’s “Born This Way” to be unique and original. It sounds similar to “Express Yourself” in terms of the beat, not necessarily the words/music. EPIC FAIL!!!

Will people stop bringing up Madonna, nobody brought up the fact that Madonna copied Cyndi Lauper. Different lyrics, different instrumental, the only thing that is kind of similar is the melody but Seriosuly people, who cares.

Ryan, Madonna and Cyndi copied each other and they both admitted that! And by the way, both came up almost at the same time in the music scene with very strong female perspective and look. Gaga wouldn’t be here today if it were’nt for these two icons. Period.

Madonna copied Cyndi Lauper musically, and a massive amount of her fashion/style was copied from various artists.
All art/music runs in cycles, so really, ragging on Lady Gaga for being influenced by her predecessors, who in turn were equally influenced by theirs, is just ridiculous and ignorant.

People seem really desperate to find a reason to hate Gaga.

I am already getting tired of hearing this comparison. They are not similar in any way besides the fact that the songs are about just being yourself. But there is different lyrics, beats, tempo, rhythms, etc. However, Gaga has said on numerous occasions that she is influenced by Madonna. So of course there is going to be hints of that sprinkled throughout her songs. I am sure if you looked at Madonnas discography you will find numerous songs that are similar to music she was influenced by. But the bottom line is…GET OVER IT!

Madge didn’t copy Cindy Lauper! I think u have to hear the songs again. Gaga is a very sly! The only thing is that is voice is a little more powerful as Madge but the rest is “flat”: she copied everyting from the Queen. She used the gays and LGB as excuse … she’s dammed shit!

  • February 12, 2011 | Permalink |

If you seriously think Madonna didn’t rip off Cyndi Lauper you are sadly and pathetically misguided.

You just don’t want to accept that she did because if she does, it weakens your “Gaga is a vicious copy cat” argument’.

Plus, in the end, your opinion doesn’t really matter, because Born This Way is becoming one of the fastest selling songs on iTunes.

So it seems pretty obvious that Lady Gaga ripped off Madonaa, but who did Madonna rip off?
Music keeps going back and getting mixed up and spliced together. Now we just have the internet and can find out!

Lady Gaga, better say ”CACA” as we renamed her, is just another piece of SHIT of nowaday ”music”.She has no talent and she will never be like Madonna or any other real Star of the 80’s.THAT’S ALL!
