Is Atlanta Housewife Phaedra for real?
By Kim Palacios
hollywoodnews.com: Though she has only been on the show for a single season, “Real Housewives of Atlanta” newcomer Phaedra Parks is known for her tenuous relationship with the truth. Fans wasted no time using the reunion show to call her out for her sometimes contradictory, sometimes just-plain-hard-to-believe comments.
On the table on tonight’s episode were comments she made about her own background and upbringing—specifically, whether she really grew up competing as an equestrian, and how well she knew Nene Leaks prior to starring on the show. Much of the season had focused on whether Parks had been truthful about her child’s gestational age.
The question of Parks’ history on horseback was easily cleared up—the star supplied childhood photographs of her in English riding ear astride a horse, apparently at a competition. Yet, her relationship with Nene in Georgia was less clear. Though the two grew up in the same town around the same time, Leaks refuted Parks’ claim that they knew each other when they were young. When put on the spot, Parks admitted they neither attended the same high school nor would they have been in high school at the same time.
Though Parks ceded many of Leaks’ points on the topic, she insisted that even though the two did not know one another personally, Leaks knew Parks’ brother. Leaks denied this assertion and maintained the whole time that Parks had greatly exaggerated the truth.
