Miranda Cosgrove ‘Dancing Crazy’ Video!

HollywoodNews.com: Miranda Cosgrove, singer, actress and star of hit Nickelodeon show iCarly, will release her new EP, entitled High Maintenance, on March 15, 2011, on Columbia Records. The five-track EP is Miranda’s first collection of songs since her 2010 debut album, Sparks Fly, which debuted inside the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 Chart. The High Maintenance EP is a pop-rock whirlwind, complete with sing-along choruses, candy-coated vocals and dance floor friendly beats.

The infectious hit lead single “Dancing Crazy,” written by Max Martin and Avril Lavigne, has already debuted on the Top 40 chart after only three weeks at radio. Miranda Cosgrove is proving to be a renaissance woman at the tender age of seventeen.

Title track “High Maintenance” sees Miranda trading tongue-in-cheek vocals about her carefree, fun-loving ways with Rivers Cuomo, who contributed as a songwriter and producer to the track. From the sentimental ballad “Kiss You Up” to the explosive, electronic “Sayonara” this album shows Miranda’s true versatility as an artist embracing multiple styles and influences.

Miranda and her band are currently on the road lighting up dark winter nights in cities from coast to coast with her Dancing Crazy Tour. Greyson Chance, YouTube sensation and the first artist signed to Ellen DeGeneres’ record label, eleveneleven, is opening on all dates.

Born and raised in California, Miranda Cosgrove, the chic, multi-talented 17-year-old, has been moving full throttle ahead as her Hollywood star has been quickly rising. She gave a charming performance of holiday favorite “Last Christmas” during TNT’s prestigious annual Christmas in Washington special last December. In addition to releasing Sparks Fly earlier this year, which resulted in a Teen Choice Award nomination for “Breakout Female Artist” and a riveting NBC Today Show performance on Rockefeller Plaza, Miranda’s film and TV career has been moving full throttle ahead in 2010. She contributed her voice to the Golden Globe nominated animated summer blockbuster film Despicable Me, signed on as a spokeswoman for Neutrogena, made an appearance at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and guest starred on CBS’s award winning drama The Good Wife.

Lead single “Dancing Crazy” is currently streaming here.

This is an interesting description of Miranda Cosgrove. But, I, Ron, imagine similar descriptions might be written about many of the young women, and not so young women, in Hollywood, and elsewhere. But, in my book, Miranda Cosgrove is unique. And not because I love her.

There are many beautiful, and talented women in the world. There have always been. But there is something about Miranda. Something she knows. Something no other woman has known, before her. The odd thing is, to my mind, that I know she knows something no other woman has known. And, as far as I can see, no one else knows that, except Miranda. Or that she knows that I know, and so on.

Alfred North Whitehead said something to the effect that all philosophy written after a certain point was but a series of footnotes to Plato. Alfred North Whitehead never met Miranda Cosgrove. Either have I. But, I think my wife, Miranda, has met her. Probably at her sixteenth birthday party, when Ke$ha showed up. Imagine that.

And, then, imagine, if you will, a world without heartbreak. If you imagine you can do that, then you have made some kind of error. One can not, really, imagine a world without heartbreak. One can only know such a world. But no one can only believe that.

In the myth of Eros and Psyche, which has played a major part in helping us to misunderstand ourselves, the face of love is revealed to psyche via a lie. Never happened. Never will. Miranda knows that. She also knows that love, once it appears, remains always. Clever young woman, Miranda, to know so much, at such a tender age. Socrates tells me he is impressed, as am I, Ron.

Must run, because my wife, Miranda, insists I assist her in sewing the buttons back on my old pajama top.

    Joy to you, Rose.
