Lindsay Lohan mix up means no David Letterman appearance

Hollywoodnews.com: There’s no truth to the report that Lindsay Lohan will read the Top 10 list on tomorrow night’s “Late Show” with David Letterman. (Cue the jokes that Lohan bailed because she can’t read).
Instead, after announcing that Lohan would appear on the late-night talk show, Letterman producers had to explain that they were duped, and that the troubled starlet would not be appearing after all.
“Lindsay Lohan will not be delivering a Top Ten list on Thursday’s Late Show with David Letterman, as had been previously announced,” CBS said in a statement. “We made a mistake. Someone purporting to be a friend of Lindsay’s reached out to the show yesterday, allegedly on her behalf, and booked her to appear. Clearly, this person was not authorized to make commitments on her behalf. We wish Lindsay well, and look forward to having her on the show in the future.”
Appearing on the show could only help the actress’s public image. Instead, she becomes the butt of yet another media joke, and now Letterman’s forced to talk to scheduled guest Paris Hilton by himself. Sorry, Dave.
