Adam Lambert defends his behavior and personal life

HollywoodNews.com: Adam Lambert wants to ask one thing of people: to not judge his personal life and choices, no matter how you may feel.

Lambert apparently felt the need to recently update his Twitter to get a message across to his “fans” and others. “Onstage kissing antics were ‘for your entertainment’ nothing more,” Lambert said defending his performance choices.

But he also wants to defend his personal life and is asking for no judgement there: “And “fans” please refrain from judging my personal life negatively. A few of u #needtogetoneofyourown.”

He then closes his message with a nice thank you, of course, and a little reminder: “Remember it’s MY life and I thank you for tuning in. :)”

What do you think got Adam Lambert on this topic?

It’s a long story. Some of his fans are very young. But trust me it’s a long story but yes there is a story behind it

  • February 21, 2011 | Permalink |

I always thougt Tommy Joe was straight and the kisses were part of the performance. No suprise. Nevertheless, we loved it.
As for Adam’s private life. It is his LIFE and we should stop assuming what might be going between him and Sauli. He could not even be alone in Bora Bora. Even so far from home someone recognized him and took photos and now they are on the Internet. What I want from him is his music and to hear him on the radio. It is going to be such a long drought until he releases the next cd. Wish he would do a collaberation with another entertainer. That’s seems to be the most popular music now.

  • February 21, 2011 | Permalink |

You only have part of the information here, and not all of Adam’.s tweet s from today. They begin with him defending his bassist, and end with his expressing gratitude to his “sane” fans. Theres is a back story which you should investigate. Please do complete research before you ask readers to comment.

  • February 21, 2011 | Permalink |

I love that he tweeted it, I loved his on stage antics and always knew it was just freedom of expression and for entertainment, nothing more, but unfortunately some crays made it his personal life and whenever he didn’t perform what they wanted in his personal life they attacked anyone and anything he showed interest in! Stupid but true! I hope they listen to him now and start focusing on him and his music again! The guy is mega talented and that is what fans shuld care about, his talent and music! Love Adam!

  • February 21, 2011 | Permalink |

Dear Elizabeth, even Adam doesn’t know back story, finding back story on crays is like hanging out in an insane asyllum! LMAO!!! #1, Adam needs to start worrying about himself and not trying to stick up for everyone around him, afterall, I don’t see any of them putting him first! It’s time he put himself first, screw the rest, it’s his career, he is the star, lets get on to new music! Hell Ya!!!

  • February 21, 2011 | Permalink |

‘cos of the fantards who built up a fantasy about he & his bassist… and are now hating on him (the bassist) now that Adam has gone public w/ someone he’s dating.

get a life, people. (and usually reputable publications refrain from b.s. to get hits on their site, please.)

  • February 21, 2011 | Permalink |

The tweet about “onstage kissing antics” had nothing to do with defending his performance choices. Some deluded and highly intrusive fans have decided that there was a romantic relationship between Adam and Tommy Joe Ratliff (the bassist whom Adam kissed during the AMA performance and “Fever” on tour), or that Tommy Joe wanted a romantic relationship, and were angry at Adam because he took his new boyfriend Sauli to Bora Bora and was therefore “cheating” on Tommy, or was breaking Tommy’s heart. Never mind that Tommy is straight. Others were angry at Adam because they thought he was cheating on Kris Allen (never mind that Kris is married). Then there was another subset of fans who tweeted abusive garbage to Tommy Joe, as well as some of Adam’s ex-lovers, warning them to not interfere with Adam’s relationship with Sauli.

In short, there were some people who overstepped their bounds in a MAJOR way, and Adam was justifiably fed up. He had every right to call out those people. Of course, they’ll probably not realize that Adam was talking about THEM.

  • February 21, 2011 | Permalink |

It sounds as if you have missed something. Adam defended Tommy, his bassist. He didn’t defend his performance, there is nothing wrong in his performance that he has to defend. Adam and Tommy often delivered a sexy kiss during Fever in their GNT, and a few so-called fans believed that there were some relationship between them, even though Adam has said a few times that Tommy is straight and they just did that “for your entertainment” only. The so-called fans must have harassed Tommy on twitter or something (especially after hearing about Sauli) either because of jealousy, or because they were still deep in their fantasy about the “beautiful relationship between Adam and Tommy”, or b/c of anything else that I don’t know. That’ s why Adam twitted earlier that “It’s come to my attention fans are givin’ Tommy shit. Why?? He’s my friend!”, then he went on to straighten things out “Onstage kissing antics were ‘for your entertainment’ nothing more.”. It’s just like “wake up, don’t be dreamy, don’t be childish”. Some of them even said negatively about Sauli, too. That is what all his tweets are about. His last tweet thanking fans is so sweet. I just love him for being ‘a hell of a nice guy’.

  • February 21, 2011 | Permalink |

You need to research what you are posting first. Some people were going after Tommy and Adam stepped in and then they went after him…and the saga deepens. Someone needs to write a book about this!! Adam is always as kind as he can be though and ended by saying
“To focus on the positive: I wanna thank the majority of you for your passion, loyalty and *sanity*! Trust me- I owe you guys the world.”

  • February 21, 2011 | Permalink |

last tweet,To focus on the positive:I wanna thank the majority of you for your passion, loyalty and “sanity”- I owe you guys the world.@adamlambert

  • February 21, 2011 | Permalink |

I loved his smackdown on his more obsessive fans. About time he said it. Obsessing over real couples is creepy and as he said, some of them need to get their own life instead of living through his. I also echo the second comment. You are missing what started this, plus his tweet about his sane and supportive fans. At some point it would be great if the conversation about Adam was about his music NOT who he sleeps with.

  • February 21, 2011 | Permalink |

Adam is a class act. I read all his tweets today, just makes me love him more if that’s possible.

  • February 21, 2011 | Permalink |

Why do people feel like they have the right to dictate what a celeb should/shouldn’t do? ADAM has always been open & honest with us & even tried to be understanding of some of the fans … granted … they are passionate and fierce about their LOVE for ADAM … me included … but I would never presume to insinuate my views on his PRIVATE & PERSONAL life. Just like I don’t like being told what to do about mine. There has to be a line drawn somewhere … some fans are too OTT about ADAM … too VOCAL!! Let’s let ADAM entertain us the way he has been … leave his private life … PRIVATE!!!

  • February 21, 2011 | Permalink |

Some fans do need to work on loving Adam with a little more sanity. There have been youtube videos that I wanted to forward to friends but didn’t, because under the videos are too many comments by some obsessed fans making completely inappropriate remarks. It’s embarrassing and does not help Adam in developing his career and an increasing fan base. This is a seriously talented man who needs his fans to reflect well upon him. You can do it!

  • February 21, 2011 | Permalink |

We KNOW what got Adam on this topic. Every performer has some overzealous (read delusional) fans. Fans who think they personally KNOW the artist. Adam has been so kind to his fans that sadly, a small number were quick to twitter him who he should…or should not, date. Thankfully he finally let them know, in no uncertain terms, but in his inimitably classy way, that their advice/insanity was unwelcome.

  • February 21, 2011 | Permalink |

I used to love Adam but lately he acts to big headed (cough Cough) He tweets pics of a couple pic of celebs he was with. He soun so in your face. Just a little tweet about the 290,000 bucks for charity water. Talks pissy to his fans like he is such a big favor. I really was a fan but he doesn’t REALLY care but what he wants. I don’t care about his personal life. Keep it. I am sure I like mne better.

  • February 21, 2011 | Permalink |

You miss the tweet that started the whole thing: “It’s come to my attention fans are givin’ Tommy shit. Why?? He’s my friend!” It was Adam defending his bassist (the one he usually kissed on stage) because some crazy fans were sending him shit tweets

  • February 21, 2011 | Permalink |

Adam is so right, it’s His life.
No one has the right to say yes or no, it’s his life
I have no idea why he feels the need to defend himself, we, his fans love his music, his voice and his happy personality, anything else is his private life and we have no right to medle.
He is true to himself and others and I admire that, if anyone does not agree with him it’s his/her problem
I always assumed that first of all he is an Artist and the kissing on stage was for fun and for the show, does not bother me one bit, if it was something more it would be the same, no bother at all, it’s fun and like Adam usually says: it’s not that deep.
He is an amazing Artist with an amazing voice.
    All the best Adam.
    A fan forever.

T his is exactly what was expected by reporters. Pick out partial sttatements without presenting the whole story. Luckily the fans who have a life will always see the truth iAdam igives us and will be there to set things straight, With todays social media reporter can not get by with half a story to get hits on there site.

  • February 22, 2011 | Permalink |

I love Adam’s mega talent, his personality, his generous spirit, his syle of performing, he keeps us coming back for and wanting to hear more of his fantastic music. His private life is just that, his to do with what he wants to. Unfortunately, as fame is gained, it seems that privacy to a degree is lost. I think Adam has done a great job of handling that, he seems very savey, and gives much to his fans of himself. Luv ya Adam, hope you find the most happiness you can in your professional and personal life, you sure make us happy…and…thank you.

  • February 22, 2011 | Permalink |

Welcome to the wonderful world of being famous, Adam! Sad you should feel the need to justify your choices, especially to people you don’t even know. I don’t tweet so I have no idea what comments this article is talking about. If you are a true Adam fan than you know he’s gay (get over it, not for you girl) or you should know by now Tommy isn’t. and that fantasy you had about him and Tommy won’t happen! We should all want the best for him and his music and hope he’s happy with whoever he chooses.

  • February 22, 2011 | Permalink |

I was at his concert in Raleigh, NC….with my daughter…Before the concert when we were all standing out to get hopefully autographs from the band, dancers and possibly him…Tommy came out and signed autographs…He the hugged a girl…and got in a SUV with the girl…obviously they knew each other well…Tommy is straight…as he has said and Adam has said and we all know Adam prides himself on being honest and open…Please people…Adam has right to personal life…we need to get a grip…the media and nutty fans are the ones who make up stories for their own enjoyment…Get a grip…and yes Adam….let them know to do so…just plain ridiculous that someone has defend their right to privacy and truth.

HE WAS DEFENDING HIS PERFORMANCE STYLE! He was saying that he was not in a realtionship with the guy Tommy who’m he used to kiss onstage, so people need to stop getting upset about his relationship with his boyfriend Sauli, and stop sending hate to either Tommy or Sauli. There is no romance triangle, and people need to get out of their fantasy world and get a life!!!!! That’s what he was saying!

  • February 22, 2011 | Permalink |

Sorry that was supposed to read HE WAS NOT DEFENDING HIS PERFORMANCE STYLE!!!! WHOOPS!!

  • February 22, 2011 | Permalink |

And @Kali YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT!!!! He was putting a stop to the HATE MAIL that one of his band members was getting because crazy fans thought they had a relationship! HE IS NOT BIG HEADED, get your story straight!!!!

  • February 22, 2011 | Permalink |

Adams right, I can’t believe this is still going on about the kiss with his band member. The music business is tough enough if your heterosexual let alone being gay, he’s had to cross so many boundaries and handled it ever so graciously, he just came off a grueling 6 month tour, give him a break, never mind his personal life, I’m only interested in his amazing voice and talent. I grew up I the sixties and I’m on the wrong side of sixty, I’ve been to many rock concerts in my time and seen some shocking stuff, Adams never done anything offensive that I can see, fine for Madonna and Brittany, not to mention Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep at the golden globes last year, but I suppose it’s only if your gay thats its such an issue to kiss someone of the same sex, go figure.

  • February 22, 2011 | Permalink |

This is just a dumb fan war thing. Adam was speaking directly to a small group of fans who have been crossing the line, not addressing the general public. Do some research before reporting “news” that really isn’t “news”.

  • February 22, 2011 | Permalink |

@Benny, I could not agree with you more. Adam needs to concentrate on himself and stop defending all the people around him. I’m sure everyone is taking care of themselves. They go to Adam to request help from his fans to promote themselves then they get mad when the fans get overly involve. Adam needs to concentrate on himself. Ignore all the negativity around him and start focusing on his career. We need new music like now Adam!!!!

  • February 22, 2011 | Permalink |

You omitted some of Adam’s comments, which were prompted by hateful. obsessive, or delusional Twitter messages sent to Tommy Joe Ratliff, Adam’s bass player and good friend. Because Adam kissed Tommy on stage throughout the Glam Nation tour, some fans believe they have an off stage romance and are dismayed by Adam now spending time with a certain Finnish friend, who thankfully does not have a Twitter because some ‘fans’ on Twitter have said very negative things about this sweet guy, who is making Adam very happy these days.

To be fair to Adam his tweets were these:

“It’s come to my attention fans are givin’ Tommy shit. Why?? He’s my friend!”

“Onstage kissing antics were ‘for your entertainment’ nothing more.”

“And “fans” please refrain from judging my personal life negatively. A few of u #needtogetoneofyourown”

“Remember it’s MY life and I thank you for tuning in. :)”

Adam then tweeted that he met the “amazing” Juliette Lewis, and Miley Cyrus, who is “so fun”.

    Later on, Adam tweeted:

“To focus on the positive: I wanna thank the majority of you for your passion, loyalty and *sanity*! Trust me- I owe you guys the world.”

    We owe Adam more.

First, I dont think it was a real Adam’s fan’s because he have a couple haters too and they want to be pass for a fan’s but they dont. They juge Adam’s and want to Adam looks like a guy who flirt many guy’s..It is not that Adam Kiss Tommy his bass guitarist just for the entertainment of his all show tour and all his fan’s love that. And now the tour are finish he have a real boyfriend who are super beautiful and Adam and Sauli likes really in love, so its amazing to see Adam’s be in loved. So that haters want to make Adam’s looks bad because on his show he kiss Tommy’s and in the real life personal life he kiss another guy’s ..but the other guy’s are his real boyfriend ..thats it and I hate to see the hater’s pass for his real fan’s because it was not his real Adam fan’s . thats it.

I love Adam for his voice and good looks. His personal life is his business. i am grateful for the joy that he gives through his music & amazing performances. let us support him in developing into a iconic artist who will last from generation to another. aren’t we blessed to be instrumental to his success.l

He’s got a boyfriend now, everyone – let them be! I mean, would you like to be treated that way?

  • February 23, 2011 | Permalink |

    @Kali,

This is you: Look at me everybody! I’m just gonna donate to charity so I can get a big, giant, pat on the back.

Somethiing tells me you could care less about the recipients. You’re the worst kind of charity donor ever. Forget the reason for the charity in the first place. The beginning statement was the only reason you gave.

I think adam’s latest twitter rant was a bit bizarre. He came across as a bit of a Drama Queen, but then attempted to rememdy with the positive fan thanks.
It is always kind of wonderful to hear from him anyway. got to remember these celebs are just people too.

  • February 24, 2011 | Permalink |

the first thing that comes to my mind is why did you only print or bring up part of his tweets??? had you printed them all it would explain alot of your closing question….this is what i get so sick of with the media always trying to sensationalize a story….
