Oprah welcomes Diana Ross and her children

By Greg Hernandez

HollywoodNews.com: It’s well known that one of Oprah Winfrey’s early role models was Diana Ross.

When Oprah was 10 years old and watched Diana perform with The Supremes for the first time on ‘The Ed Sullivan Show,’ she knew that she wanted to do something special with her life.

So it was always special whenever Diana appeared on Oprah’s show. Last Friday’s appearance was a real lovefest and what was especially nice was the appreciation Miss Ross showed for Oprah even singing the tearful host a special tribute.

Miss Ross (she likes to be called that but does not insist on it she told Oprah) has been called a diva and all the rest over the years but her talent cannot be denied and it has not diminished after more than 45 years of stardom.

She has no plans to retire at this point but admits that she would stop performing “If my voice changed. If I couldn’t sound like myself, I wouldn’t want to perform.”
