Adam Lambert reveals who he likes on ‘American Idol’

HollywoodNews.com: Since Adam Lambert was once an ‘American Idol’ contestant, everyone wants to know who he is rooting for on the newest season.

Lambert has finally spoken out about who he thinks has some major talent on the show. Lambert took to his Twitter to reveal his first pick of the season.

“Ok caught up on idol: Jacob Lusk– Werk it the fuck out sister! I’m so excited to hear u sing every week!!” Lambert posted.

He was also impressed with another contestant who showed some improvement in his opinion: “[James] Durbin sounded badass tonight! Lot more control! And while we both have a rock scream I think we’re pretty different stylistically.”

Do you agree with Adam Lambert?

I’m pretty much reserving my choices until I hear the girls … time will tell about ADAM’s guy choices … I also liked Jovany Baretto … but it’s too early to tell right now …… I do agree with ADAM about James Durbin … there is NO comparison ‘stylistically’ ….. ADAM has his own UNIQUE style going on!!

Jacob Lusk’s stellar performance brought me to tears last night. I can’t believe how talented all of these young men were, some more entertaining than others, but nonetheless, they all excelled from past idol shows (Adam remains the best, in my opinion). This year is going to be an exciting one. Adam, my wonderful Adam, so glad you’re watching Idol and keeping up your interest in the young talent. I also like the kid with the red, unruly hair. He has a great stage presence. ( Sorry, I can’t remember his name, but I will work on that shortly).

I agree with Adam that in no way is Durban anything like him other than Durban quite obviously was influenced by Adam but why wouldn;’t he? Adam is amazing, of course he is a trend setter!! Gotta say though, no one has grabbed me yet, going to watch the girls and if no one grabs me there then I’m done watching! Only time I was evr into it anyway was when some guy with charisma, stage presence, fashion icon and crazy ass vocals that had every range with pitch perfect control grabbed me and that guy was Adam Lambert! Don’t think the show will ever excite me like that again!

My favourite is Paul. He is the most unique, refreshing and polished performer – the complete package.
To me, Durbin is an Adam wannabe. Sorry, but i just viewed Adam’s cover of Whole Lotta Love and there is simply no comparison to be made, he “killed” it and I’m sure he could do the same with Judas Priest. His voice and stage presence is just powerful.
Adam owned his season of Idol and we knew that as soon as he sang Black or White.
He is becoming an international superstar and I can’t wait for his new music. He’s one of a kind.

I enjoyed reading Adam’s opionion about the guys. My favorite was James and several others, I am working on the name thing too. lol Hope the girls do as well tonight.

The thing I don’t like about James Durbin is that he is trying so hard to follow Adam’s act…or he is appearing to do so. I hope he doesn’t do it on purpose. That would be a shame cos there is no one like Adam and James will just appear a copycat.

i respect adam’s liking, but to me, there will be no one like my BB. I will forever close my heart for any idols cause i had 1 who is truly amazing beyond words.See him live made me cried and remembered it will shed me some tears. No one do tat to me.I truly adore HIM.Give him any songs,BB will sing it AMAZINGLY!!!!Sorry Idols none will ever be compare to my BB.

I agree with Adam, he is ever gracious and honest. I really think LIndsey Parker should shut her mouth though about James copying Adam – it’s like saying Steven Tyler fans should knock Adam because Steven screamed first , such entitlement gives Glamberts a bad name.

    ADAM LAMBERT has vision !!!

  • March 2, 2011 | Permalink |

I totally agree with Adam. I loved Jacob Lusk singing one of my favorite songs from Luther Vandross. I can’t wait to see what else he can do. James Durbin was started to both me and I was concerned he might be a one-trick pony. But he killed it last night with Judas Priest! I liked a few other guys and really look forward to the girls tonight. This is a good group.

I meant to say that Durbin was starting to bother me with his antics and seemed to be able to do rock ‘n roll only. He was good last night.

  • March 2, 2011 | Permalink |

Granted Durbin can WAIL … but can he sing … send shivers down your spine … change it up week to week … keep you guessing WHAT he’ll do next … what type of fashion will he be wearing week to week …. can’t wait for his next performance …. get all tingly every Tuesday & Wednesday night waiting for Idol to come on? Oh! that’s right … that’s all in the past …. that guy was ADAM LAMBERT!!! I personally like the GIRLS this season … especially Pia Toscano … that girl can SANG!!

Adam remains and will remain the best Idol contestant ever, no-one can replace him, don’t think anyone is trying to.(love you Adam). But, I like James Durbin, interested to see where he will go, I like his story, and the fact that he has seemingly met and is conquering serious challenges in his life. I also like Jacob, he has had several amazing performances, and several of the girls are good as well. The little fifteen year old girl’s voice last night was as pure as pure can be. All of these young folks are there trying to find and develope their individual styles and kudos go to them for having the courage to get out their and fight for them….my wishes for good luck goes to each and every one of them.

Adam is spot on, as usual

Have to agree with Adam on Jacob Lusk. he has an amazing voice. Also, love Scotty McCreery (and I am not a country fan)

I watched both boys and girls. Durban could front a rock band but he isn’t like Adam at all and no one could be like Adam anyway. Jacob is old school and some company will sign him if he doesn’t win. The rest of the guys are re-treads of former singers from the past imo. Especially the guy who sang Maggie May. Rod Steward is still alive and still performs often so, doing his songs isn’t very original.

I think they should be made to choose songs that have not been top ten or famous in order to fully judge them. Choosing a song that is so famous confuses things. Is it the singing or is the famous song that people are responding to?

OK Adam Lambert took my breath away but after last year’s poor showing I think this year shows much more promise. There were several I really liked and felt moved enough to listen over a few times. Jacob, James and the one who sang (he actually truly PERFORMED!!) I Put a Spell On You. I’m wondering if the new judges who are both singers/performers themselves helped actually to pick out those who would be able to deliver – the standard they ended up with was so much higher than last year (and to think Simon Cowell might have been ever so slightly in two minds at first about Adam because of his theatricality!!?? duh? what?) I thought I would never be able to watch again after Adam, especially after last year but I am finding this year’s quite interesting and will definitely be watching. There is only ONE Lambert though….

Kate you don’t know what you’re talking about. Adam is my favorite and will continue to be but there’s some kickass talent with these guys. The last 2 guys were so good it was almost unbelievable. You shouldn’t be afraid to praise people just because they are in the same business as Adam. It would get very boring with only one entertainer so lighten up.

Adam supports James and knows they are different..Adam is pop/rock and James is rock/metal….very different..heck Adam did not even know the words to Metallica’s Enter The Sandman when he sang it for his guitarist’s birthday, he had to use notes..listen to the vocals minus the rock screams..very different and James need to stay rock/metal because that is what he is and is what will lead him to success on Idol and post-Idol. That’s his lane and he’s good at it. Glad Adam tells the truth and his not about his ego at all.
