John Travolta insults Qantas staff with video

Hollywoodnews.com: John Travolta probably thought he was doing a public service, but a pre-recorded video he made for Qantas airlines staff is being dismissed as “corny” and “tacky,” according to Sydney’s Sunday Telegraph.

The safety video features the “Pulp Fiction” star referring to the crew as a “team” – reportedly a big no-no – as he address them.

“I’ve been flying over 40 years as a pilot and I can tell you, there’s no one I’d rather have at the controls than a Qantas pilot,” Travolta says.

But some Qantas staff members, who have taken to message boards to vent their frustrations, are saying Travolta’s word choice (which no doubt was scripted for him by someone else) “makes them feel like they work in a fast-food chain.”

“We feel it’s demeaning to be called ‘the team,’” one anonymous poster said. “It makes us feel like we work at McDonald’s.”
