Chris Nolan’s “Dark Knight” sequel going to Temple

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Juno Temple has officially been added to the cast of Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises,” a sequel that now has almost as many characters as Gotham has criminals.
The young actress, best known for a handful of indie projects such as “Greenberg” and “Kaboom” will be playing an as-yet-unnamed “street-smart Gotham girl,” according to Variety.
That, of course, has Batman message boards heating up. Some are speculating that Nolan will bring along the character of Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Commissioner Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) who goes on to become Batgirl (or Oracle, depending on when you started reading comics).
Others are wondering whether or not Temple could play Harley Quinn, sidekick of The Joker who sort of takes over when her clown prince disappears.
That’s all it is at this point, however. Speculation. But we’d love to know who you think Temple will play, and how you think she’ll fit in to this expanding cast? We have nothing but time when it comes to “Dark Knight Rises.” The sequel won’t be in theaters until July 2012.
