Russell Brand, Jennifer Garner in new “Arthur” clips

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: On paper, it sounds perfect. Remake “Arthur” — the Dudley Moore classic about a spoiled, rich, pampered, party-seeking billionaire – and build it around our modern-day good-time generator Russell Brand. Cast Oscar-winner Helen Mirren in the role that earned John Gielgud his first and only Oscar. Then shake that cocktail into an enjoyable cinematic drink.

We’ll see soon enough if the elements gel in the new “Arthur.” The comedy opens next month, but until then, we’re starting to see a few teaser clips reach the Web.

This morning, Yahoo! Movies has an awkward wedding proposal between Brand’s immature Arthur and Susan (Jennifer Garner), the headstrong woman Arthur’s mother wants him to marry. Sounds like a match made in heaven, no?

Collider, in addition, has six new clips pulled from Warner’s press site. They are here.

We also have a high-def trailer for “Arthur” to help get you excited for the film’s release. The comedy — which also stars Nick Nolte, Luis Guzman, and Greta Gerwig in the Liza Minnelli role as the girl Arthur truly loves — will be in theaters on April 8.

The Americans killed the first one. I wonder what surprises they have in store when they do this one.
