Rosie O’Donnell will shoot talk show in Oprah’s studio
By Greg Hernandez
HollywoodNews.com: Oprah Winfrey and Rosie O’Donnell once tied for outstanding daytime talk show host at the Emmys.
That was a long time ago when Rosie was still known as “Queen of Nice” and was in the middle of her six-year run in syndication. Rosie wrapped up that show, came out publicly, and went on to do ‘The View,’ her own daily show on Sirius Radio and all kinds of interesting things.
Now Rosie is returning to television and the Oprah connection continues. After Oprah wraps her 25-year run on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ at the end of May, Rosie will begin taping a new daily talk show – to debut this fall – in the very same soundstage at Harpo Studios to air on OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network).
“I just want to say, ‘Hi, I’m coming to Chicago,’” Rosie said via video blog. “I’m thrilled about it, and I get to work with all of you who have created magnificent television…It’s a huge thrill for me, and I’m beyond the beyond.”
