Chris Brown gets defended by Rosie O’Donnell

HollywoodNews.com: Chris Brown has received a lot of backlash for his past and recent actions that include the matter with Rihanna and his outburst on ‘Good Morning America,’ but another star is coming to his defense.

Rosie O’Donnell is speaking up on her radio show in his defense, believing that he is treated unfairly, states PopEater. “I just don’t know why this kid seems to be held to a different standard than anyone else,” O’Donnell commented.

O’Donnell’s executive producer then implied that a racial aspect may be involved and she did not disagree: “I totally think there is, and I also think it’s why he felt he was safer with Robin Roberts.”

Do you agree with Rosie O’Donnell?

Chris will never live the incident down. There’s a strong possibility race is a factor but I wouldn’t be so sure about that. Sometimes if you piss the wrong people off you’ll have a steep hill to climb and the reverse is also true, if you have the right friends you can practically get away with anything regardless of race.

I think Robin Roberts exploited him. I don’t know if that was her call or if it came from above but it’s clear he was caught off guard. Chris was 19 and he paid his debt to society. If Rihanna can put it behind her maybe the rest of us should too.

No, I don’t agree with Rosie. He doesn’t get held up to any different standard that the rest of celebrities. Look at Miley Cyrus, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears and countless other white celebrities who are attacked for their behavior-which, by the way, doesn’t hurt others, just themselves.

Curtis, you took the words right out of my mouth….it’s been 2 years, Rhianna herself has moved on, actually her career took off. But again, she moved on, she’s sick of hearing it, it was about two people and although they are in the public eye, does not make them less human. He made a mistake, a horrible mistake that he has paid for, legally, and publically. Additionally, this is a young man who grew up watching domestic abuse, statistically this isn’t as surprising as pepole are making it out to be. If he wasn’t a celeb, then his childhood would be addressed…but it is typical for people to bring tear you down rather than bring you up…it’s human nature…and the media lives for scandal…that’s how they they their ratings….Robin, African American or not is no exception to that rule. She participated in exploiting him for the show rather than show how well he has done since the event and the fact that he has overcome so much of it. Yes he has some stuff to work out, but it’s his work to do and he shouldnt’ have to be judged for this the rest of his life….focus on his talent, that part cannot be denied.
