Adam Sandler adds vintage rap star to comedy cast

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Adam Sandler’s latest comedy, “I Hate You, Dad,” simultaneously got a little hotter and whole lot cooler.

The comedian has added “Gossip Girl” Leighton Meester (pictured) and pop-rap icon Vanilla Ice to his expanding cast. Andy Samberg and James Caan already are part of the ensemble, according to Variety.

The plot finds Sandler moving in with his grown son (Samberg) on the eve of the son’s wedding. Trouble brews when the disgruntled dad begins fighting with the bride-to-be (Meester).

Variety reports that Ice “will play an old friend of Sandler’s character.”

“I Hate You, Dad” begins filming in June. It’s targeting a Summer 2012 release. Good. We’ll need that much time to get used to the idea that Sandler’s old enough to play Samberg’s father in screen.
