Miranda Lambert developing ABC Family mystery

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Miranda Lambert had the golden touch at Sunday’s Academy of Country Music Awards, taking home four trophies including Female Vocalist (though she lost the evening’s top prize to Taylor Swift).

Now the country star is turning her attentions to a new medium with dreams of rivaling her singing successes.

Lambert will develop an as-yet-untitled drama for ABC Family, THR reports. The series “will be based on Lambert’s childhood in Texas,” and would “revolve around a family in Texas whose parents are private investigators, with the children assisting in solving crimes.”

Part “Nancy Drew,” and part “Hart to Hart.” What’s not to like?

Lambert, of course, is no stranger to success. She was a “Nashville Star” finalist in 2003, and has dominated the country music charts ever since bursting on the scene.

We’re eager to see if the storytelling that drives her songs can translate to the smaller screen.
