Brian Grazer confirms “24” movie for 2012

Hollywoodnews.com: The clock continues to tick on a feature-length installment of “24,” but some recent news might have fans lining up for a ticket to Kiefer Sutherland’s gun show.
“Got off the phone Kiefer yesterday and we are very excited about producing the 24 movie for next year,” producer Brian Grazer tweeted Monday night (as picked up by EW).
This is an official confirmation to Sutherland’s recent claim on “The View” that a “24” movie would, indeed, be in theaters in 2012. As EW notes, Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Entertainment produced the drama for Fox during its multi-season run.
But who will be standing in Jack Bauer’s way when he finally reaches the big screen? Rumors swirling around the long-rumored “24” film have sent Bauer’s CTU agent to Europe to stop a global threat, though those plans could have been scrapped as our national headlines shift. During its run, “24” always did its best to stay relevant and topical. Expect a film script to try and match that sentiment, even as it ups the action ante that can only come with a motion picture budget.
