Hollywoodnews.com: We continue to get the Cannes Film Festival lineup in dribs and drabs.
Woody Allen’s “Midnight in Paris” has been slated as the Opening Night film. Other titles – from Rob Marshall’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” to Terrence Malick’s long-awaited “Tree of Life” – have been rumored, but nothing has been confirmed.
Thierry Fremaux will announce the full lineup on Thursday, but this morning, festival organizers have revealed that Gus Van Sant’s latest, “Restless,” will open the Un Certain Regard selection on May 12.
Mia Wasikowska of Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Kids Are All Right” co-stars with Henry Hooper in Van Sant’s teen drama, his first picture since the Oscar-winning “Milk” in 2008.
The films joining Van Sant, Allen and other world-renowned directors will be announced at a Thursday press conference in Paris.
