“Harry Potter” DVD and Blu-ray street today

By Sean O’Connell The end of the “Harry Potter” franchise edges closer, with the second part of the “The Deathly Hallows” set to hit theaters in July.

But this morning, “Potter” maniacs around the globe will be hopping on their brooms and flying to the nearest retailers to pick up DVD and Blu-ray copies of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1,” which streets today and promises tons of extra features.

The main selling point, however – an opening scene from the upcoming “Deathly Hallows: Part 2” – might have jumped the gun. CBS News reported that the scene included on the “Potter” Blu-ray had leaked online days ago. But it was poor quality – a handheld video grab off of a television screen. Here it will be pristine.

We’ll have our review of the Harry Potter” Blu-ray on the site this weekend. We’re still burning through extras and supplements. Needless to say, if you are a “Potter” fan, you are going to want to add this one to the collection.
