Robert Pattinson serving “Water” to fans this Sunday

Hollywoodnews.com: While Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon walk the red carpet this Sunday for the world premiere of their period romance “Water for Elephants,” fans of Sara Gruen’s novel and of the film will be able to watch an exclusive clip from the movie from the comfort of their own homes, thanks to a new partnership.
20th Century Fox and Color, creators of a unique mobile app, have joined forces for a clever marketing move as the film prepares to open.
“Photos and videos taken using the Color app by attendees at the New York premiere at the Ziegfeld Theatre will be instantly shared to those in the immediate vicinity in a Water for Elephants premiere group (or ‘conversation’), which acts like an automatic feed,” THR reports.
To ensure that people at home using the Color app will receive good content, Fox has tapped one of its own producers and some talent to shoot red carpet photos and footage to upload to the app.
THR says Color is “a free application for iPhone … that allows people within 150 feet to capture and have real-time access to photos, videos and text.”
On Sunday, one of those photos or video could be of Robert Pattinson. In addition, an exclusive clip from “Water for Elephants” will be posted at www.color.com/waterforelephants beginning at 1 p.m. PT on Sunday.
It’s a good weekend to be a fan of Reese, Robert, “Elephants” or technology.
