Elizabeth Banks wants to play “Hunger Games”

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: As the “Hunger Games” cast continues to round out, a beautiful blonde with string comedic chops is looking to get into the game.

That would be Elizabeth Banks, star of “Zack and Miri” and a recurring guest star on NBC’s “30 Rock,” who is “in talks” to join the planned adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ sci-fi book series, according to THR.

Banks wants to play Effie Trinket, handler to Collins’ heroine, Katniss (played by Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence). If cast, Banks would join Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Amandla Stenberg and Dayo Okeniyi in the film, which is being directed by Gary Ross.
