‘American Idol’ may change voting system next season

HollywoodNews.com: Almost all the female singers have been voted off ‘American Idol’ this year which is apparently making producers rethink the voting system.

‘AI’ executive producer Ken Warwick has revealed that some of the voting may change in the next season as the show is driven by female viewers, states HollywoodLife. “We are very much aware that the voting can be skewed towards the boys … Maybe we limit the number of SMS votes or the number of online votes, but it will remain the way it is for the rest of this [season],” Warwick said about the show.

However, even if votes are limited, Warwick acknowledges that the show is about who the public chooses as their American idol.

No final decisions have been made in relation to changing the voting system.

Do you think the way the public votes should be changed?

It only took them 10 Seasons to realize the voting system is unfair????? This should have been looked at years ago. Why can’t you do the voting like they do on Dancing With The Stars? We don’t care how many TOTAL votes came in that night! American Idol is being watched all over the world. Limiting the number of votes per person is not going to hurt their ratings. I can guarantee that many people would be very pleased at the outcome. And the RIGHT person would be crowned American Idol fairly. The way the voting is now…. is WRONG. The winners are only winning because it is all about how many people they can get to stay up 2 hours and vote til their fingers fall off. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE CHANGED!

I think the voting should be by the number if times a person is in the bottom three. three times in the bottom three and they are out. That way the person who was never in the bottom three, may still be in the bottom three but won’t go home unless he or she hits three .

They said they want to add a judges vote and keep it fair, but adding the judges vote is NOT fair. You made it the voice of the people and then when the people don’t vote as you like it, you decide to change it up to make it what you want Why bother with the viewers votes and just let the judges choose who they can make the most $$ from? Stop wasting our time.

The voting system has been flawed from day one, the producers just realized this? WOW!!! I think the voting should be limited to 10 votes per voting method. The judges still get to have their 1 save but NO vote. The voting will be more accurate once it’s limited, nobody should be allowed to vote over a 1000 times, it’s ridiculous and it has messed up the changes of making it farther in the competition for too many good contestants. The last time the right person won AI was David Cook, since then it has been a mess, the voting has been “hijacked” by teeny bopers with their never ending voting parties, it’s unfair and a slap in the face to the contestants who are trying to win a singing competiton, not “which boy is the cutest contest”. I haven’t been watching Idol like I used to. Until and unless the voting system changes to a limited one, I won’t watch a show that allows cheating. I hope the producers do step up and put an end to that nonsense….Put a limit on the voting, please!
