Pia Toscano taking talents to “Dancing With the Stars”

By Sean O’Connell

Hollywoodnews.com: Those disappointed by Pia Toscano’s early departure from “American Idol” will be pleased to hear she’s returning to their television sets soon … just on another show.

Toscano will perform on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” during next week’s results show, scheduled for Tuesday, April 26, it was announced during last night’s program. People goes on to report that Toscano will appear alongside “DWTS” regular – and rumored love interest – Mark Ballas.

Apparently the news was a surprise to Ballas.

“I just got told after Tom [Bergeron] announced it. We aren’t allowed to know stuff like that,” Ballas told the media. “I can’t tell you the song, but it will probably be something slow and romantic.”

Ballas will dance with fellow pro Karina Smirnoff while Toscano sings.

Sounds great. Pia’s far too talented to be off the air, and “DWTS” is a great format for her singing voice.
