Denzel Washington boarding “Flight” with Zemeckis?

Hollywoodnews.com: After years of toiling in motion-capture animation on projects like “The Polar Express” and “A Christmas Carolm” Robert Zemeckis is returning to live-action (yay!) and he may be bringing Denzel Washington with him (double yay!).
Zemeckis, who helmed a handful of masterpieces such as “Cast Away” and the “Back to the Future” trilogy, is “in negotiations” to helm the drama “Flight” for Paramount. Based on a John Gatins script, “Flight” follows a substance-abusing pilot who must land a plane following a system malfunction. THR notes that Denzel Washington is “loosely attached to star.”
Zemeckis might be heading back to live-action after audiences turned their collectiove noses up to Disney’s “Mars Needs Moms” last month. The film tanked. No matter the reason, it’s refreshing to hear that a vital storyteller like Zemeckis is getting back in the business, as he hasn’t directed a substantial live action film since “Cast Away” back in 2000.
