“Fast Five” star Paul Walker behind wheel of new “Vehicle”

By Sean O’Connell Paul Walker can’t seem to escape the driver’s seat.

As Walker’s latest “Fast and Furious” film prepares to race into theaters this weekend, news is breaking that the actor is signed on to executive produce and star in a new project involving cars … only ones that don’t move quite as fast as they do in a “Furious” film.

Instead, “Vehicle 19” will be an indie thriller about “an unsuspecting traveler (Walker) in a foreign country who picks up the wrong rental car and becomes tangled in a web of corruption by the local police,” THR reports.

South African filmmaker Mukunda Michael Dewil will direct, and plans to shoot in South Africa at the end of summer.

As for Walker, he no doubt will be back in future “Fast” films, as this latest is expected to make big bucks for Universal once it hits theaters this Friday.
