Steve Carell bids “The Office” farewell, but what’s next?

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: After weeks (months?) or teasing, Steve Carell leaves “The Office” tonight during a special, 52-minute extended episode.

As the story goes, Carell’s character, the dimwitted but well-intentioned Michael Scott, is heading to Colorado to marry Holly (Amy Ryan), the love of his life. And while most of the conversation surrounding the finale has been linked to Carell’s eventual replacement on the show, tonight should be spent remembering the comedian’s contributions to the once-hilarious and now routinely amusing NBC sitcom.

To that end, E! Online lists the “5 Things They’ll Miss Most About Michael Scott.”

And MSNBC counts down Carell’s top Michael Scott blunders.

Soon enough we’ll find out who replaces Carell on “The Office,” whether its Will Ferrell in a longer-term role, or a newcomer like Will Arnett. Until then, we’ll just say “Thank you, Steve,” and buckle in for what we hope is an unforgettably funny send-off to a beloved actor and character.
