Pixar, “Cars 2” unveils Royal Wedding tie-in

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Disney and Pixar always have been savvy when it comes to marketing their movies, but this one takes the cake.

In conjunction with the Royal Wedding, which attracted a record number of eyeballs to television sets and Web sites around the globe, Pixar revealed two royal characters who will cameo in the upcoming “Cars 2,” a globetrotting sequel to the award-winning “Cars.”

The Queen, voiced by Vanessa Redgrave, presides over the finish line for the World Grand Prix in the film. The final leg of the race takes place in Jolly Old London, where we’ll also see Prince Wheeliam.

I wonder if cars can get married in this four-wheeled, fictional world?

Anyway, we have pictures below of The Queen and Prince Wheeliam. You can “like” both characters on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/CarsTheQueen or http://www.facebook.com/CarsPrinceWheeliam.

“Cars 2” will be in theaters on June 24.
