Katie Couric and $20 million deal at ‘General Hospital’s’ expense

HollywoodNews.com: Katie Couric is reportedly in talks with ABC for a $20 million deal that would give her a syndicated talk show and much involvement in the news programs.

Katie’s talk show would reportedly possibly take the place of ‘General Hospital,’ which means the station’s final soap opera would be axed, states TMZ. However, the station might also wait to see which of the new shows replacing the other soaps struggles and switch in Katie’s show after that.

Along with her talk show, Katie is reportedly being offered work with ABC News and ’20/20′ which would include specials and anchoring.

Do you think this deal will work out?
