Lady Gaga mentoring “Idol’s” final four

By Sean O’Connell Haley Reinhart advanced to the Final Four on “American Idol” this week by singing an unreleased Lady Gaga song that the singer normally performs in concert.

Apparently Gaga was impressed. And now she wants in on the fun.

FOX has revealed that Lady Gaga will serve as the celebrity mentor for the final four contestants — James Durbin, Scotty McCreery, Haley Reinhart and Lauren Alaina – on the May 11 episode of the still-popular reality contest juggernaut.

That night, according to THR, the contestants “will perform songs written by Leiber and Stoller, who wrote most of Elvis Presley’s most memorable hits, like ‘Hound Dog’ and ‘Jailhouse Rock.’ They also wrote ‘Stand By Me’ (with Ben E. King) and ‘Smokey Joe’s Cafe.’”

The following evening, “Idol” judge Steven Tyler will debut his new music video, “(It) Feels So Good,” while former “Idol” winner Jordin Sparks will perform.
