SNL alumni capitalize on wedding-themed films

By Kim Palacios

hollywoodnews.com: If you love SNL and are looking forward to the May 13th release of Kristen Wiig’s “Bridesmaids”, you may be interested in an upcoming project with the working title, “Bachelorette”. It is the second wedding-themed film to emerge in recent times featuring both production and acting talent from alumni of Saturday Night Live.

The film is being helmed by Gary Sanchez Productions, a shop that packs some serious comedic cred. The company is headed by Paraguayan entrepreneur and financier Gary Sanchez, and creatively led by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, and Chris Henchy. Quips the company web site, “Please see films so Mr. Sanchez can continue to live like king in poor, unequal country.”

In addition to Will Ferrell’s involvement in the project, current SNL cast member Casey Wilson has been cast in an unnamed role. Kirsten Dunst has been cast as a former mean girl who is one of three invited to be a bridesmaid in the wedding of a girl all three ridiculed in high school.
