“90210” Season Finale Cliffhangers!

By Fred Topel 90210 stars Matt Lanter and Gillian Zinzer are shooting a movie in Los Angeles right now. On the set of Liars All, which they are shooting between seasons, they told Hollywood News what 90210 fans can expect from their season finale. Of course, it’ll be a cliffhanger.

“Someone gets knocked up,” Zinzer said. “Someone is on the verge of suicide. Someone gets married, someone’s going to die.”

In other words, the usual “90210” drama. At least for Liam, the finale is more conclusive.

“With my character it was a very kind of real ending,” Lanter said. “Honestly, I think that this year with the ending of the season, we’ve kind of left on I wouldn’t say a completely positive note, but nothing like ‘Oh, someone died. We’ll find out next year.’”

Actually, something bigger is at stake at the end of this season. After high school graduation, all the characters have to figure out what to do with the rest of their lives.

“I think there’s big cliffhangers because it’s a turning point in these kids’ lives,” Lanter continued. “They’re graduating high school and moving on to ‘the real world’ and adult lives. I think you kind of get a little bit of a grasp to where everybody’s going in the future and I think that’s always interesting. Where are these kids going to go and how are they going to become adults and how are they going to fit into the world?”

For Liam, and Ivy, those simple choices could be quite surprising. “I think our characters in particular take a very off beat alternative direction to the others,” Zinzer said.

That said, the season finale leaves all the characters at points where it’s entirely possible they might not return next season. “We’re on hiatus right now and we just got the official pickup for the season so I think our characters are kind of waiting to see if we’re coming back or not,” Lanter said.

“90210” airs Mondays at 8 on The CW.
