Al Pacino joins John Travolta in Gotti picture

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: With all due respect to those behind the movie, the John Gotti film sounded like a bit of a joke.

John Travolta playing the Mob boss. Lindsay Lohan in and out of casting rumors. It felt more like a multi-part TV series in the making, not a major motion picture.

That might be changing. Fiore Films announced in Cannes that Al Pacino has joined Barry Levinson’s film, titled “Gotti: Three Generations.” The Oscar winner will play Aniello “Neil” Dellacroce, John Gotti Sr.’s mentor.

Pacino – Michael Corleone – back in a Mafia movie? It’s enough to get the heart racing. Suddenly, the Gotti project is one that bears following … and not to see if Lohan will sabotage the entire production from the inside.

ComingSoon.net says shooting “is planned to start in the fall for a late 2012 release.”

Absolutely breathtaking. Oscars for all involved.

I hope they include some of the following gangster film genre actors in this movie:

Andy Garcia, Armand Assante, Chazz Palminteri, Christopher Walken, Harvey Keitel, Jack Nicholson, James Caan, Joe Mantegna, Michael Madsen, Paul Sorvino, Ray Liotta, Robert De Niro
